After more than 30 years of practicing law in Washington D.C., Houston and Miami, Walter J. Stanton, III (Walt) has found the secret to success. It’s all about the clients.

He spends his days making sure everyone with whom he comes into contact obtains the answers, legal advice and business solutions which they are seeking - particularly in the areas of sophisticated banking, corporate, regulatory, and securities law

Walt has developed an understanding of what his clients need while working with both Banking and Financial Institutions as well as with Private Businesses and Publicly Held Corporations. Walt’s experience with the financing of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies allows him to help his clients focus on what is most important: funding, securing of key contracts and bottom line strategies for their businesses.

It is with this knowledge on both sides of the financial and regulatory issues which allows Walt to represent his clients in a variety of industries effectively, on time and on budget.

When working with clients, Walt opens his extensive contacts to his clients to help connect them to other businesses, advisors and professionals who can assist the business or financial institution in their goals. Often these introductions/referrals provide efficient solutions and save the clients significant time and money.

Acting as outside General Counsel to a number of businesses and financial institutions, with United States and International operations, Walt provides counsel to clients in several growth industries such as petroleum distribution, hospitality furniture manufacturing, access control manufacturing andinstallations, environmental and water treatment, and import/export of high end building product. Walt develops routine and helps clients by creating strategies at the C-Level to accomplish their business, regulatory and financial objectives.

Walt also advises boards of directors, their committees and officers on their fiduciary duties and other obligations.

In 2006 Walt, along with Tom and Pete Carney, founded Carney Stanton which has offices in Coral Gables and Delray Beach, Florida. Tom and Pete Carney bring their knowledge of tax, real estate, title, land use/zoning, and banking to the clients that are counseled by the firm.
